Well, I’ve received much deserved flak for not letting my distant friends, and even some close ones, see any pictures of my new house. To be honest, I’m sometimes a bit of a perfectionist, so I’ve been trying to get some much needed work completed before I showed her off. To those of you that have been here or have helped me with furnishings, wine and food; thank you. To those of you that haven’t been over yet, the invite is open.

So, I’m in the Shamrock area of Charlotte, hoping that the great traction that some surrounding neighborhoods have continues to move my way in the years to come. It’s three bedrooms and one-and-a-half baths, about 1,250 square feet. One of the first large scale projects down the road will be to turn it into two full baths, but that’s a ways away. Dad (that’s Spencer to you) has already helped me run a gas line, run a new main drain line, knock out the wall between the kitchen and living room and put up the header, and with a slew of other things.

I have a very large one car garage that I can’t wait to fill with work benches and tools. Right now I have a few on loan from my dad so I’ve been able to make a lot of progress. Just wish I still had my motorcycle to fill some of that space. (Don’t worry, I got my eye on a vintage Triumph down the road.;) Brody loves the fully fenced in back yard. I reluctantly say he’s best friends with the little chihuahua behind us. They run up and down the fence yapping at each other like little girls. Sheesh.

And of course the two gems of mine are the 40″ range that I have in the kitchen and the deck which is home to my ten year old Weber kettle grill. The only thing missing, but not for long, is my Weber Smoky Mountain Smoker.

I can’t wait for the warmer weather to come so I can really enjoy the deck. I just finished it about a month ago, so I didn’t really get a chance to enjoy it. Don’t worry, we’ll be starting Friday happy hours as soon as the weather starts to break, if not sooner! See you out there!
